Yeah, yeah, before you say it – I know my version numbering system is rather pathetic. However version 1.00 has been released because this is actually the 100th version. There are, however, some useful features that have recently been added:
‘–tree’ option: Displays the lists of programmes or matching programmes in a sort-of tree view
‘–hide’ option: Removes programmes that have already been downloaded from listings and searches.
I will also try now to update freshmeat.net with new releases.
I installed the previous version of get_iplayer on my Ubuntu machine in accordance with your instructions. I’d like to upgrade to this new version 1.00 but, being new to Linux, I’m not sure how to go about it. Would you please explain.
Thanks again for this extremely useful program.
@alan,
To update the Ubuntu deb version just follow the installation instructions again under ‘Linux deb Package’ in https://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/installation/

Is it me of os the security Code real hard to see?
@mrg,
Lol! The security code is meant to be hard to read to stop those pesky blog spammers (it’s worked really well so far – only ever had 3 spams) 🙂
Looks like you solved the mplayer/lame conundrum..
You could do what I do and just disable RealAudio downloading and wait for the MP3 version to become available: Use the –mp3audio option
