Embedding thumbnails in MP4

I've just started using get_iplayer (2.72) both on windows and linux and notice that, in the former, the thumbnail is downloaded automatically and embedded in the resulting MP4. For the life of me, I can't find the command switch to persuade linux to do the same. Can any kind soul point me in the right direction? Thanks!
