[solved] Downloading Embedded BBC Media

Heya, I'm doing research for an essay on stage schools and need to download a clip embedded on the bbc site. (Link=

Could someone tell me precisely the instruction I need to add to the get_iplayer to download it please? Thank you very much.

Strangely this one is just a plain rtmp url. Try this:

flvstreamer --rtmp rtmp://cp46682.edgefcs.net/ondemand/oliver/laurence.flv -o laurence.flv

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. I put it in as said to Get_Iplayer but then It says "FLVStreamer v1.9
Failed to open file! laurence.flv"

When I remove the "-o and laurence.flv", the computer makes more sirens and horns than a boy racer. Is there something really trivial I'm missing?

I just tried the above and it worked fine for me, it is a very small flv file (957kb) , I'm using get_iplayer 2.72 and flvstreamer 2.1c1 (current) on fedora 12,
I think maybe some more info required, have you tried updating flvstreamer ?

how did you know/do you use some foss/linux software ? the only things I've seen are url snooper and url sniffer, both windows apps and I'm loathed to use wine

Just used 'GET <URL> | grep xml' then rebuilt the xml file url that it showed, did a 'GET <URL>' on that and in the XML file was an rtmp url...

That looks like the problem, I've got an old version of flvstreamer. Can I download flvstreamer 2.1c1 anywhere on Windows or do I need Linux?

Just re-run the latest installer and select the flvstreamer component for re-installation...
